Start Date: Saturday, October 18, 2025 

2025-2026 registration opening:

  • August 1st for previous Academy players
  • August 5th open to all previous and new players

NEW: The KIBC is pleased to announce that we will be opening up our Mini sessions to players that are 4 years of age as of Oct 18 2025.  We are firm on this cut-off date

We will also now be offering an Atom girls division.

Overview

The Mini program provides an entry-level basketball program for young children 4 to 7 years old by providing a fun, active and healthy learning environment.

New in 2025-2026 

  • We will be opening up Mini's to 4 year olds.
  • We will split the players by age: Beginner  4/5  yrs  & Intermediate 6/7 yrs.  

Objectives

  • Provide entry-level basketball program for young children 4 to 7 years old
  • Build a community of league organizers, parents, coaches committed to minor basketball
  • Provide a fun, active and healthy learning environment

Curriculum

  • The Mini program runs once a week for approximately 45 minutes.
  • Created in alliance with Canadian Sport 4 Life/Long Term Athlete Development initiatives. 
  • Aligned with Canada Basketball's Developmental Pathway
  • Curriculum has been developed by NBA Basketball Operations and a team of experts in child development and physical literacy, and basketball fundamentals
  • Games will be modified to be age-appropriate, simple and fun

Our Equipment & Uniform

  • The Mini program includes age-appropriate equipment (smaller basketball and lowered adjustable hoops) 
    and modified games for children of this age-range.

Boys Beginner 4/5 yrs two sessions:

9:35 am -10:35 am OR 10:40 am - 11:40 am

 

Boys Intermediate 6/7 yrs two sessions:

9:35 am -10:35 am OR 10:40 am - 11:40 am
