We are always looking for new student leaders to help run our programs.  If you are  in high school or post secondary, a positive leader, and can also follow instructions from head coaches, can be engaging and encouraging with our young players then please review below and if this interests you, apply at the bottom of the page.

Schedule

• 16 weekly sessions total
• Every Saturday, starting October 18 2025 - February 21 2026 
• 8:30 am- 5:30 pm 

Philosophy

FUN. Players will make friends, learn basic movement, basketball specific skills and participate in fitness related activities. Develop a love of sport for life! The Academy promotes an active lifestyle by providing a positive experience in sport. To that end, we want all players to experience the fun of being a contributing member of a team while gaining confidence by learning new skills and applying them to various game situations.

Overview of Duties and Responsibilities

• Follow and execute Coaches’ instructions
• Independently lead players during drills and games
• Officiate basketball games
• Scorekeeping
• Complete tasks as assigned by the Academy Director and Coordinator (ie. sweeping gym floors, lowering/raising net heights, pumping basketballs, etc.)
• Actively participate and encourage all Academy players during the entire session
• Be outgoing and enthusiastic to help deliver a dynamic sessions each week
• Create a positive and fun environment for players

Employee Hourly Wages

Under 18 years old: $16.60

18 and older: $17.60

Volunteers

Collecting volunteer hours for high school credit is also an option upon Student Leader request. Wages cannot be collected simultaneously with accruement of volunteer hours.

Hiring will begin in mid-August.
