Dear Kingston Impact family,

I hope this finds you all well and healthy.

As this period of uncertainty continues to unfold, the club’s executive thought it would be best to reach out to all of you.

The executive for the club has been communicating  frequently over the last week to think about the correct path to take as far as unfinished seasons, and the overall safety of our athletes and families.

At this point, we know that the Atom Boys and Girls seasons will not finish with the OBA Championships, as these have been cancelled.

For all remaining teams, we are waiting for two important items of information that will help shape our decision making. The yet to be announced continued closure of schools, and the OBAs action plan will help determine the continuation of seasons or their cancellation. We will also then need to take into consideration about whether as a club we feel it would be in the best interest of our families and athletes to continue to play even if seasons were to start up.

Once we receive these details, we will communicate further plans with families.

In the meantime, there are a number of opportunities for our athletes to individually work on their games at home.

  1. A number of coaches have offered workout plans for their athletes.

  2. Our club graduates that are playing, or are soon to play at the university level,  have offered daily challenges through @coachimpact on Instagram.

  3.  Rodney Wilson from Conquer Training is offering workouts for athletes. These online workouts that are sorted by age group will be hosted once per week via zoom. They are 40 minute sessions, $10 per athlete on a pay as you go basis.  Times would be Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday 2:30-3:10 pm with no equipment necessary. Anyone interested should contact Rodney before next week at rodney@conquertraining.guru

This is a challenging time.

Be healthy and happy,

Erik Vreeken
