Welcome back Kingston Impact families! We have missed you. During the past 18 months the KIBC executive have been working closely together towards the day we can come back together on the court.
Following the guidelines of our local health unit and the Ontario Basketball Association, it is our great hope to see our Jr Gaels Development League start back up on Saturday, October 23rd.
The Kingston Impact Basketball Club has been actively working on securing gym space for our Jr Gaels Development League for the 2021-2022 season.
This year the KIBC has decided to merge both the east and west locations into a single, centralized location at Kingston Secondary School.
Unfortunately, the school boards will not make a decision on opening up their gyms for community use for a few more weeks but we are moving forward with our online registration to ensure that we will be fully prepared for the earliest opening day.
In the event that there are delays, we have contingency plans regarding refunds etc.
The KIBC’s highest priority is the safety of our athletes, coaches, staff and their families. With Covid-19 protocols constantly changing, we have created a Junior Gaels Covid-19 page to provide the most current details.
An important highlight from that page is that while Ontario Basketball and Ontario Public Health DO NOT currently require full vaccination for players under the age of 18, the Kingston Impact's policy for the 2021-2022 season WILL require all eligible players to be fully vaccinated prior to participation, with few exceptions.
Furthermore, KIBC does not have the ability to grant exemptions from the policies set by the facilities we use. So if their policies are stricter than ours, we will follow theirs.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding. Policies and procedures are changing regularly, we appreciate your patience and flexibility as we adapt. We will continue to send updates as soon as they are available.
