YXU Basketball was founded by Kingston native Connor Vreeken in January 2024. Connor grew up playing for the Kingston Impact and attended Frontenac Secondary School before continuing his playing career with Ottawa Elite, U17 Team Ontario, and U18 Team Canada. Connor played post-secondary basketball at Carleton University, where he was part of four USports national championship teams. In 2023, Connor started his professional basketball career when he signed to play internationally in Cyprus.
Since returning to Kingston in 2024, Connor has run numerous skill development programs and competitive summer camps as a means of passing his basketball knowledge on to the next generation of basketball players in Kingston. Connor believes in teaching the game of basketball to an individual level - ensuring that all his athletes understand “the why” behind everything they cover together on the court.
