Kingston Impact's Aaliyah Edwards capped off a fantastic summer by not only capturing a Gold medal with Ontario's U15 Girls basketball team but being named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.

Edwards led the tournament with a 17.4 point per game average while also being 2nd in rebounding (8.4 rebs per game) and feild goal percentage at 65%. She was also top 10 in blocks, steals and minutes played.

Aaliyah really came into her own when the games matter most. In the final pool game, she led ontario with 30 pts in their 65-59 victory over Quebec to claim first place in their pool. She then followed that up with 26 points and 12 rebound performance in the semi final win over Saskachewan.

In the gold medal game vs Quebec, she helped Ontario get out to a big early lead with 14 first half points (17 total) enroute to a 75-55 victory.

Aaliyah follows a number of former female Impact players that have played for Ontario provincials teams including Bridget Mulholland, Jenny Wright, Jory McDonald and Lacey Knox. She is the first one however to be named the MVP of the tournament.

Edwards is only the 2nd player from the Impact to play for a Canadian National Team. Jory McDonald was also named to the Canadian U15 Cadette team back in 2009.
