It is with great pride that Kingston Impact shares that seven graduates from our competitive programs are moving on to play at a USport level this season.

Brennan Laidman (McGill), Sam Pierson (Mount Allison), and Connor Vreeken (Carleton) graduate from our boy's program, while Claire Weirsma (Lakehead), Abbey Hetherington (Queen's), Sarah Peirson (Bishops), and Vanessa Willis (Nippissing) will represent our girl's program at a university level.

This stellar group of basketball players leave Impact and Kingston as leaders in the community, and with a high number of accomplishments on the basketball court.

Weirsma, Hetherington, Pierson, and Willis helped lead our first ever Junior Elite League of Ontario (JUEL) team to medal. Claire Weirsma also graduates from Frontenac Secondary School as an OFSAA Gold Medalist, while Hetherington and Peirson were 3 time OFSAA participants including winning a bronze medal in 2016 at La Salle Secondary.

Vanessa Willis led her Prince Edward Collegiate Institute to their first ever OFSAA appearance.

On the boys side, Sam Pierson leaves Holy Cross SS as a three time OFSAA AAA participant, and as a member of the Kingston Impact U19 Division 1 OBA 4th place team this season.

Laidman and Vreeken graduate from Frontenac SS as three year contributors to the Senior Boys Basketball team where they were two time OFSAA participants. Both players also played across North America as members of Ottawa Elite, and Canada Elite and CIA Bounce respectively.
