The Bantam Girls got the season off on the right track, going 4-0 and winning gold at this year's Belleville Spirit's tournament.

The girls' smothering defence and timely offensive execution helped secure wins over Oshawa 36-6, Ottawa Shooting Stars 47-8 and a semi final win over London 86ers 51-10.

In the final, the girls earned a sluggish 40-23 victory of the host Belleville Spirits.

At the Major Bantam level, Team Finn, won their first 2 games before getting beaten by the host Belleville Spirits in their final pool game.

In the bronze medal game, the girls battled hard against YNBA but fell 51-29.

Overall a great start to the season for both teams.
